It’s always good fun fun doing lectures and introducing new people to chip tune and circuit bending music and today was no exception. I got to guest lecture at Suffolk New College on the Music course, after a brief introduction into chip tune and circuit bending, I got to help the students on their new composition projects, I always look at things different in terms of sound design and composition so this was probably the best time for them to be introduced to some one like me. It will be interesting to see how they evolve their musical ideas over time. Alot of very talented students, it’s very good to see something positive and musical in Ipswich.

I had a great time in Cardiff! Very pleased I got to return to Cardiff and perform at Swn, it’s like a music festival but in a city, with loads of different venues taking part from big clubs to little cafes, with people rushing here and there to check out all the different acts. After soundcheck I nipped into town and went on the huge ferris wheel got a little scared when I stopped at the top and the wind was blowing. Had a lovely pizza and it was time to play. I had a good crowd at Dirty Sue’s which was good considering the excellent Golden Silvers were playing a couple doors down. I only learnt one word when I was there “Moye” which means more, as I was asked to do about 4 encore tracks which was great.
Next Day went to the bay had noodles at Wagamamas‘ and into Caerphilly on a scenic forest drive, and then on to home. All in all it was good fun.
Pictures to follow soon.

I was fortunate enough to be asked to perform at the first ever “Game In The City” Video Game Development and music festival held at Amersfoort Creatieve Stad and De Kelder in Amersfoort, Holland, and to get there I had to travel by overnight ferry which is amazing. It was like being on the Starship Enterprise, I had my own little room and it was great, sadly there was no holodeck but I did have my DS with me so I was good to go.
Amersfoort was amazing a little medieval town which I wandered around in, for a bit and took some pics. There were very few cars and people where zooming around on bicycles in little groups, it was really good to see.
During the daytime I got to give a presentation to the audience and press regarding my Music Tech Pro Peformer Software, and was surprised when I won a prize for innovation and “Breaking The Rules” for the work I had done.
The performance at De Kelder was great, I was very glad I got them dancing and spinning around. I was very honoured to be on the same bill as video game music legend Jeroen Tel. I also got to meet Firestarter and Gijs Gieskes and have a long chat about chip tune music, it was good because although we all do chip tune music we are very different in terms of our style.
So overall I had a really good time and was very well taken care of in Holland, hopefully I will be going back soon and I look forward to it. You can check out their official flickr page of the event here.
