I got the pleasure to neet VV Brown today for a coffee and a chat, a very very passionate musician and mutual friend of Damon Albarn. It was really good just talking about music, sound and sound design. She was recently involved in Africa Express an amazing musical journey and I am very envious of her for that, fingers crossed maybe one day I’ll be able to go on such a journey. I took her a gift as I do whenever I meet new musicians, a small retro keyboard which I opened up and and circuit bent in front of her. It was a lovely meeting and hopefully I shall bump into her again quite soon.

It is great to hear a a whole room of people experimenting with circuit bending and today was no exception. I got to take a class of around twenty or so students from Norwich Access To Music through the basics of circuit bending, teaching them how to modify small keyboards to alter the picth and create new sounds. It was great the really wanted to get started right away, and as soon as we did the dived right in. A huge wall of sound was created using these sqeaking sqealing keyboards and fun was had by all. At the end they got to take their keyboards with them so they could sample and record with them.
It good being able to do these kinds of events at a very forward thinking music centre, and I am very pleased to be a patron of Norwich Access to Music.
